Day 24: Elevation

Mount Kinabalu is located in Sabah, Malaysia on the island of Borneo. It is the highest mountain in Borneo and Malaysia with a summit recorded at 13,435 feet above sea level. I have been to the national park there once when I was about 10 years old. When I was in high school, there were actually expeditions organized for students to train and climb Mount Kinabalu. I always regretted not doing it.

I chose Mount Kinabalu to take a go at the joy plot theme many people have been raving about on Twitter. Not going to lie, anything mapped with this theme seems to turn out pretty cool. So here was my first try at the joy plot mapping theme!

Process:
Tried to draw elevation as vector lines but somehow the points turn into a mess when I do “points to path” (tweet) so just changed points to line symbol, rotated it, and came up with this. Color theme was white to purple (low to high elevation).
