My Experience
I have been passionate about visual storytelling since I was young. I started exploring video editing, photography, and graphics as creative outlets. When I began my professional career as a geologist, I learned about cartography and immersed myself in this newfound creative outlet, which has become a lifelong passion.
I have a master’s in Cartography along with recognition for my cartographic work (Gunung Mulu National Park Map) in the Atlas of Design Volume 7 and Geohipster 2024 Calendar. My thesis Trust in Maps: Investigating the Role of Cognitive Biases presents novel research of trust in maps.

I would describe my cartography style as vibrant, eye-catching, and intentional. Each map I create is meticulously handcrafted to fulfill its purpose. I particularly like producing thematic maps, map-related infographics, and map illustrations. In my creative process, layout, typography, and color are important elements I use to tell a story with my maps.
I complement my design skills with fervent interest in web-maps and front-end development. My journey with coding started with SheCodes in 2020 but expanded during my master’s program. Notably, Mappy Munich, a group mapping project from my first semester in 2022, sparked my proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript. In 2024, I furthered my skills by completing SheCodes Plus, Responsive, and React, reinforcing my foundation and advancing my development expertise.
